Khaos Williams made it two in a row with a first-round knockout of Carlston Harris at UFC Vegas 92. Williams’ last fight was almost a year ago, winning against Rolando Bedoya at UFC 288. The fight against Harris lasted 90 seconds and Williams is eagerly looking for a quick turnaround.
Williams did not clarify who he wanted to fight next but was ready to take on all comers. Williams won the Performance of the Night bonus and has set himself up for a tougher matchup. Let’s see who are the three potential matchups for Williams.
Michael Morales
The undefeated Michael Morales has eased past his opposition in 4 fights in the UFC. The undefeated Ecuadorian started his UFC career with finishes over Trevin Giles and Adam Fuggit. However, in his next two fights, he could only eke past decision victories. A fight against Williams would be a step up in competition. Moreover, it could also showcase how he would use his technique against a power puncher like Williams.
On the other hand, the UFC could use Williams to test whether Morales belongs in the rankings of the division. If victorious against Williams, Morales would get an opportunity to get into the rankings. Williams could also use the opportunity to do the same by halting the hype train.
Michael Chiesa
Michael Chiesa is now on a three-fight losing streak. The former lightweight was on the cusp of a title shot at welterweight where he was in the top 5 but consecutive losses to Vicente Luque, Sean Brady, and Kevin Holland put him out of the rankings. A fight against Chiesa would be the most high-profile matchup for Williams.
