UFC St. Louis had many ranked contenders. The results of the event have shaken up the divisions. After UFC St. Louis, bantamweight, featherweight, light heavyweight, heavyweight, women’s strawweight and women’s flyweight rankings have shaken up. The biggest surprise was that Joaquin Buckley remained at the 11th spot in the welterweight rankings despite the victory against Nursulton Ruziboev.
Men’s Bantamweight
Neither Dominick Cruz nor Mario Bautista fought at the recent UFC fight night but they exchanged rankings. Cruz fell one spot down to 13 while Bautista moved to 12. Cruz has not fought in almost two years while Bautista is on a 6-fight winning streak.
Men’s Featherweight
Like Cruz and Bautista, Giga Chikadze, Calvin Kattar, Bryce Mitchell, and Edson Barboza didn’t fight at UFC St. Louis. Nonetheless, Chikadze changed rankings with Kattar while Mitchell did the same with Barboza. Interestingly, Kattar has a win over Chikadze, though the former lost his latest fight while the latter lost his. Mitchell holds a victory over Barboza who is now on a two-fight winning streak.
Men’s Light heavyweight
Carlos Ulberg’s impressive knockout landed him the 11th spot in the rankings from unranked. Ryan Spann is now out of the rankings due to Ulberg’s entry. Alonzo Menifield, whom Ulberg recently defeated, moved down two spots to 13. Azamat Murzakanov and Dominick Reyes dropped one spot to 14 and 15 respectively.
Men’s Heavyweight
Derrick Lewis’ knockout victory put him back in the top 10 of the heavyweight rankings. Lewis moved to 10 from 12. Even though he lost, Rodrigo Nascimento stays at 15. Tai Tuivasa and Jairzinho Rozenstruik have fallen one spot down and are at 11 and 12 respectively. Interestingly, Alexander Volkov traded spots with Stipe Miocic. Volkov moved to 5th while Miocic is now 6th.
Women’s Strawweight
Even though she is on a four-fight losing skid, Michelle Waterson Gomez moved up to 13 in the rankings dropping Iasmin Lucindo to 14. It was a surprise, considering Lucinda is on a two-fight winning streak.
Women’s Flyweight
Jasmine Jasudavicius is back in the rankings again as he takes the number 15 spot from Miranda Maverick. Jasudavicious has been in and out of the rankings but it was a surprise to see her take Maverick’s spot. The American woman is on a two-fight winning streak but the Canadian has a win over her.
